The Village of Hempstead Community Development Agency is presently accepting 34th Year Community Development Block Grant Funding Applications.
Public service agencies are critical to delivering resources and services to Village residents. The Village of Hempstead Community Development Agency (CDA) remains committed to supporting local, non-profit public service organizations and encourage each to apply for the 34th year Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding.
The CDA has revised its CDBG public service award policy to concentrate on the seven (7) areas of focus of the “H.E.A.L.T.H.Y Hempstead campaign”

- AESTHETIC QUALITY
- LIVING STANDARDS
- TAXES
- HEALTHCARE
- YOUTH PROGRAMS
All nonprofit organizations should take note of the following 34th year funding policy changes:
Public service organizations are required to submit an application for funding. Recipients of prior years funding mwill not automatically be renewed.
Applications for funding will be reviewed on a competitive basis.
Funding requests must directly address one or more of the seven (7) focus areas of the “H.E.A.L.T.H.Y. Hempstead” campaign.
`All required documentation must be submitted along with the application. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
Requests for funding should not generally exceed $10,000. Entire program budgets should be furnished including, corresponding matching funds.
In keeping with HUD’s new direction emphasizing measurable outcomes, programs will be assessed on the basis of measurable deliverables to be achieved by the end of the program year, targeting, primarily low/moderate income populations.
