The Village of Hempstead Community Development Agency has just announced that it is now accepting entries for its 3rd Annual Holiday Art Competition. The contest is open to Village students 17 years of age and under, and entry is free.

PRIZES
First Prize- valued up to $250.00
Second Prize –valued up to $175.00
Third Prize- valued up to $75.00
Everyone will receive an individual acknowledgement of their artwork, and will enjoy an equal chance of winning the contest, since entrants will be judged using age-appropriate standards.

Gain Recognition
Artists entering the contest will be featured on our website—www. hempsteadcda.org, where Village residents, parents, and peers may vote for their favorite entry. Many of the artists will also be considered for publication in the Village Shoppers Guide and the Grand Prize entry will be the cover of the Community Development Agency’s holiday card.

How to Enter This Free Contest!
This contest is open to all village artists 17 years of age or younger. Send ONLY ONE original work of art per person, depicting “Holidays in Hempstead”, or “Holiday on Main Street” Paper size must be 8 ½ x 11 or smaller. Artists understand that their entry must be their original work and if accepted, will be published on our website. Artwork cannot be returned. Submissions must be received between Monday October 20th-Friday November 14, 2008
